Eden: Skiing, Trails, and Art
Accommodation in Eden
When traveling to Eden, you can focus on skiing, hiking and biking trails, or outdoor art. Nordic Valley Ski Resort and the Brim Trail are located in Eden; other named trails and artworks are on Powder Mountain. The locations also differ in the specific activities they offer: Nordic Valley offers skiing and private lessons, while Powder Mountain has hiking and biking trails as well as art.
Skiing and Hiking
Nordic Valley Ski Resort in Eden offers skiing. Nordic Valley also offers private ski lessons with professionally certified instructors. A hike in Nordic Valley takes you to the summit of Apollo. You can plan your stay around skiing, private instruction, or a hike to a specifically named summit. Seasonal access information for the hike may change; check it before your visit.
Powder Mountain is a ski area with more than 5,000 acres of terrain. This acreage gives you a concrete sense of the ski area's size if that matters for your planning. It answers a different question than the lesson offerings in Nordic Valley: here, the focus is on the size of the terrain; there, on private instruction.
Comparing Hiking and Biking Trails
On Powder Mountain, Paper Airplane and Woody's World are each two-mile green hiking and biking trails. Sidewinder is a four-mile loop in the foothills below Powder Mountain and offers access for adaptive bikes. In Weber County, Eden Trail and Parson Trail form a 1.5-mile paved route. The Brim Trail is a hiking trail in Eden. Comparing trail lengths, Sidewinder is twice as long as either of the two trails that are each two miles long; Eden Trail and Parson Trail together total 1.5 miles. The route types also differ: Sidewinder is a loop, while Eden Trail and Parson Trail form a shared paved route.
Outdoor Art and Seasonal Access
You can reach the Powder Art Foundation's artworks on Powder Mountain while skiing, hiking, biking, and riding chairlifts. In summer, the outdoor art installations and facilities are free and open to the public. The ways of reaching the artworks and free public access in summer describe different aspects of a visit. Since seasonal access rules may change, check the latest information before your visit. Launch Intention on Powder Mountain is the only interactive, rideable version in a series of sculptures about fifty feet tall.
