Cashmere brings together residential architecture, museum history, river activities and a long confectionery tradition. When planning a hotel stay, these highlights can help you organize your visit around your interests: historic buildings, activities on the Wenatchee River, local confections or a festival.

Culture and Architecture

The Cottage Avenue Historic District covers four blocks and is a residential district in Cashmere. The tree-lined neighborhood has a high concentration of one- and one-and-a-half-story Craftsman bungalows. Its architectural character differs from the focus of the Cashmere Museum, where exhibits and collections take center stage.

The Cashmere Museum covers more than 13,000 square feet. Across two levels, it displays artifacts from Indigenous peoples, natural history exhibits and objects from the pioneer era. The Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village also includes the Pioneer Village. Its grounds feature furnished, authentic cabins from the region, a waterwheel, several Great Northern Railway buildings and landscaped areas for picnicking. The cultural offerings thus bring together collections and historic buildings, as well as residential architecture from both sides of history.

River and Outdoor Activities

Mission Creek flows through Cashmere before joining the Wenatchee River. Riverside Park is on the Wenatchee River, and its paved path is used for walking and biking. This is a different kind of activity from rafting: during the spring and early summer rafting season, the Wenatchee River is rated Class III/IV. The season and classification offer concrete points of reference if you include this river activity in your trip plans.

Cashmere Riverfront Park is also connected with rafting. The park has a boat launch, and most commercial rafting groups frequently use it as a takeout point. This describes the park’s role for commercial groups. The Devil’s Gulch mountain biking area is also near Cashmere and can be reached via Mission Creek Road. So, along with the river path, rafting and mountain biking are different options to consider for your stay.

Confections and Events

Liberty Orchards has been making confections in Cashmere since 1918; the company is the maker of Aplets & Cotlets. Liberty Orchards offers free factory tours in downtown Cashmere. Check current operating details before you arrive. The Cashmere Food Trail is a self-guided culinary tour through Cashmere. The factory tour and the Food Trail thus offer two different culinary experiences: a visit to a confectionery maker and an independent tour through town.

The Cashmere Museum & Pioneer Village holds the Pioneer Village Festival on the first Saturday in October. Food, live music, entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, and demonstrations of traditional skills were listed for the 2025 and 2026 editions. The festival description also mentions exploring the village buildings, sarsaparilla in the saloon and gold panning. The description for the 2026 edition of Cashmere Founders’ Days mentions a large parade, a helicopter candy drop and a car show, as well as live music, food and family activities throughout the historic downtown.

For timing, there are two clear seasonal highlights: rafting takes place in spring and early summer, while the Pioneer Village Festival is held on the first Saturday in October. If you want to plan your stay around the festival, check the specific event date in advance.
