Between the Ice Age National Scenic Trail, the East Twin River, and a variety of cultural and recreational offerings, Mishicot reveals itself from several perspectives. When planning a stay, it is worth distinguishing between outdoor activities, local history, and golf: each leads to its own destinations and, in some cases, different visitor requirements. This lets you tailor your plans to your travel interests.

Hiking, Riverfront, and Village Park

The Ice Age National Scenic Trail runs through Mishicot; the Mishicot Segment is 2.9 miles long. A section of this trail is located in Village Park. The park sits on the banks of the East Twin River and features a paved path, playground equipment, picnic tables, and baseball fields. The park thus brings together part of the trail with additional recreational and sports facilities along the riverfront. Village Park facilities and baseball fields can be rented for a fee. If you are considering a rental, include the fee requirement in your plans.

Local History

The Mishicot Historical Museum’s online collection includes more than 3,500 photos and documents from Mishicot and the surrounding communities. At the museum, visitors can view exhibits and learn more about history. These offer different ways to explore: the online collection also covers the surrounding communities, while an in-person visit focuses on the exhibits and local history. If you are planning a museum visit, check the current visiting hours in advance.

The historic Opera House adds to the history-focused offerings with antique tours and brewery memorabilia. Visits are available by appointment. Arrange your appointment in advance if you would like to tour the antiques or view the memorabilia.

Art and Golf as Distinct Highlights

RiverEdge Galleries has an outdoor sculpture garden on the banks of the East Twin River. Village Park is also on this river; both places share a riverfront setting. Par 5 Resort (Fox Hills Resort) in Mishicot has 45 holes of golf. An outdoor sculpture garden and golf with a specified number of holes thus stand side by side as distinct highlights to consider when planning your trip.

Landscape and Events

The Town of Mishicot encompasses fertile farmland, wooded areas, streams, and the East Twin River. Agriculture is the predominant land use at 32 percent; this classification is based on the 2022 land-use inventory in the Comprehensive Plan 2023–2043. The landscape therefore ranges from farmland and wooded areas to streams and river.

The Comprehensive Plan 2023–2043 lists Mishicot Riverfest and farmers markets as regularly held events. If you would like to plan your trip around one of these events, check the current dates in advance.
