Hiking trails and named routes

Hiking Trail 97 appears in two different route descriptions. One route, described in 2025, leads from Schild 12 via Schild 2 and Schild 11 to the Munterlinde. Another description leads from Lichtenstein through the forest to Grasbach. If you are following route number 97, compare the listed stops with your plans: one route lists Schild numbers and the natural monument, while the other mentions a section through the forest and Grasbach. Check the local trail markers before setting out.

On a hike on 30 May 2025, the route followed the Wasserscheideweg, passed the Hofstadler farm in Schild, and continued to Steinschild. The Sterngartl loop also offers a named sequence of waypoints: one described route leads via Schild 4 and Schild 5, then continues along the Sterngartl loop and Hiking Trail 65 to Steinschild. This lets you distinguish the different descriptions by their place names and trail sections.

A tour description dated 24 February 2016 follows Hiking Trail 65 beyond the section near Schild and continues along Schenkenfelderstraße. This is another specific route to help you find your way; check the current trail markers before hiking. Together with the described sections to Steinschild, it offers another way to include the listed stops in your plans.
