In Vrbovce, landscape, trails and traditional architecture come together as distinct themes for trip planning. A considerable part of the cadastral area lies within the Biele Karpaty Protected Landscape Area. When choosing a destination, you can therefore weigh whether nature and hiking trails or architectural and everyday culture should shape your stay more strongly.

Landscape and Nature

In the surrounding area, flower-rich meadows are part of the characteristic vegetation. The unique White Carpathian meadows near Vrbovce are home to a wealth of terrestrial orchids that is significant for Central Europe. A natural monument lies within the Biele Karpaty Protected Landscape Area in the cadastral area of Vrbovce and is part of the Žalostiná Natura 2000 site. These are two distinct geographical references: the orchid meadows are in the vicinity of Vrbovce, while the natural monument is in its cadastral area and within the protected landscape area.

Ostrý vrch offers sweeping views of the Kopaničiaren landscape and the surrounding area.

Architectural Heritage and Cultural Sites

Vrbovce has preserved the original architecture of Kopaničiaren settlements. Traditional folk architecture includes shared courtyards and several houses arranged one behind another. These features help explain the settlement’s layout: the focus is on the arrangement of courtyards and houses, not just on an individual building.

The Vrbovčianska izba was established in Vrbovce in 2001 as a folk heritage memorial room. It displays traditional domestic culture, crafts, everyday and festive costumes, and other historical objects. While the preserved settlement architecture illustrates the arrangement of courtyards and houses, the Vrbovčianska izba adds a view of domestic culture and crafts through its exhibits.
