Discover Ormes through its distinct highlights: agricultural culture, the Church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité, and nature and outdoor activities at the Domaine de la Canaudière. If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Ormes, these themes can help you plan your days and shape the character of your trip.

Agriculture at the Maison de la Polyculture

The Maison de la Polyculture displays agricultural tools from the 19th and 20th centuries. They illustrate agricultural work in Ormes and the Beauce Loirétaine. Two permanent exhibitions also focus on the cultivation and processing of wheat and grapevines. At the Maison, you can therefore see both practical tools and displays about cultivation and processing. It is housed in a restored former winegrower's longère.

Admission is free, subject to availability. Once a month, the Maison holds the « Ateliers du mercredi »: groups of ten children explore a topic for an hour in a playful and often creative way. As this is a recurring program, check the current date before your trip and confirm the arrangements for visiting.

Church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité

The Church of Notre-Dame de la Nativité was consecrated on October 19, 1871. Inside is an 18th-century polychrome wooden depiction of the Virgin and Child. The church thus brings together two dates: its 19th-century consecration and a work of art from the preceding century.

Walks and nature at the Domaine de la Canaudière

The Domaine de la Canaudière is a 200-hectare forest open to the public. Visitors can walk and cycle on the grounds, which also have paths suitable for strollers. A nature trail is dedicated to observing wildlife. There is also an arboretum with 200 species from around the world. During your stay, you can focus on outdoor activities or nature observation, as these do not have to be part of the same activity. Access may vary during hunting season; check the access arrangements before your visit.

Getting to Ormes

Ormes can be reached by car via the A10, D2157 and D955. If you are arriving from the north or west, the route to Ormes passes through the wheat, maize and rapeseed fields of the Beauce plain. The scenery along this route offers a different travel experience from the individual attractions in the town and the forest.

Guided outings in the region

Full Mobility offers guided outings on electric motorcycles through the Orléanaise region and natural landscapes. The outings use road-legal electric motorcycles and are led by a guide. According to Full Mobility, the motorcycles produce no CO₂ emissions and make no noise. The provider says that people who have never ridden a motorcycle can also take part; the applicable participation requirements still apply. Before booking, check availability and the latest information about equipment and conditions.
