Bompas offers several different reasons to visit: farm animals are the focus at Espace Enchanté, while Site Pams combines cultural use with the history of a former agricultural estate. For time outdoors, there is also Parc Pams, as well as barbecue areas with picnic tables that can be rented at Parc des Sports et des Loisirs. You can think of wildlife watching, culture, walks and a planned break as separate parts of your stay. When planning, it is worth distinguishing free wildlife watching from paid extras, and checking event dates separately.

Animals at Espace Enchanté

Espace Enchanté is a wildlife park and educational farm in Parc des Sports et des Loisirs. You can see farm animals there for free: donkeys, ponies, llamas, cows, goats and sheep, as well as chickens, rabbits and various bird species. This mix of wildlife watching and an educational focus makes it a specific destination for travelers who want to include wildlife watching in Bompas in their plans.

On Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as during school holidays and on public holidays, paid pony rides, a carousel ride, duck fishing and animal feed for purchase are offered in the afternoons. Free animal viewing and these additional activities are therefore two separate parts of your plans. Times and fees may vary seasonally. Check the latest information in advance if a particular activity is important to your visit.

Picnics and barbecue areas

Barbecue areas with picnic tables can be rented at Parc des Sports et des Loisirs. If you would like to plan for this option, check availability before your visit. This provides a separate option for a planned break in the park, in addition to wildlife watching.

Site Pams: History and culture

Site Pams is located in the heart of the commune on the grounds of a former agricultural estate dating from the 19th century. The grounds, covering more than 13,000 m², once included orchards, vineyards and a country estate. Today, the site has been redesigned and is open, lively and community-oriented. Here, the site’s former agricultural use meets its present-day cultural and community character.

The open-air theatre at Site Pams, integrated into the landscape, hosts performances, concerts and local events in an atmosphere accessible to everyone. The programme changes over time. If you want a performance or concert to determine the timing of your stay, check the current event dates in advance.

Walks and historical context

Parc Pams offers a peaceful natural setting for walks, gatherings and events. These are different focuses to consider when choosing: performances, concerts and local events are the focus at the open-air theatre at Site Pams; Parc Pams also offers space for walks and gatherings.

The ancient Via Domitia, which ran through the commune, is also part of Bompas’s history. It provides a different historical reference point from the former 19th-century agricultural estate on the Site Pams grounds: one concerns an ancient route, the other the later agricultural use of a specific site.
