Discover Kürnbach
Accommodation in Kürnbach
In Kürnbach, the Baden Wine Route and the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park meet. Wine, events, forest trails and local history offer a variety of ways to shape your stay. If you are looking for a hotel in Kürnbach, you can use these highlights to help plan your trip.
Market Square and Wine Village
The Kürnbach Wine Village was launched in September 1995, at the same time as the opening of the Kraichgau-Stromberg Wine Route. The market square provides the setting for the Wine Village. It also plays a role in the Kürnbach Street Festival, which has been celebrated in the historic town center since 1975. The occasion was the completion of the market square.
The dates mark two different milestones: 1975 was the start of the street festival, while September 1995 saw the founding of the Wine Village. If you are interested in local events, this distinction helps you understand the different festival traditions.
Regional Markets and Local Flavors
The annual Nature Park Market in the market square brings together food from direct sellers across the nature park region. The stalls are accompanied by a program featuring activities such as picture-book cinema, hands-on events and music. Check current event announcements if you want to plan your visit around a specific date.
The GenussScheune is scheduled to open in May 2026. Visitors can discover regional foods, do their weekly shopping and enjoy small delicacies with a glass of wine. Check the current schedule before your visit.
The Rogate Farmers’ Market combines a farmers’ and arts and crafts market with regional specialties and a wide range of exhibitors. If you want to plan a visit specifically for the market, check the latest event information for dates.
Lakeside Circular Route and Forest Nature Trail
The lakeside circular route leads from the historic town center past the Adventure Golf Park to Schlosswiesensee. The KB4 lakeside circular route is signposted from the market square. Its described course provides a guide between the town center, Adventure Golf Park and Schlosswiesensee.
The forest nature trail begins about 500 m east of the town center, just behind the Morforster Weg hiking car park at the end of Austraße. It is an approximately 4 km circular route; a map at the starting point shows its course. You can take its approximate length and circular layout into account when planning.
More than 60 information panels cover topics including tree and plant species, the age of the trees, field names, boundary stones and forest pests. The topics combine information about the forest with local names and features. A viewpoint on the forest nature trail also offers a panorama map and views across the Kraichgau.
Art, History and Guided Town Tours
At Panorama Seeblick, artist Felix Falkner transformed the concrete drainage structure into the appearance of a ship. A ship’s wheel and a telescope were installed there. This artistic treatment turns a specific structure into a striking feature, distinct from the nature and history themes of the forest nature trail.
Original foundations of a Chartaque have been preserved in the forest on Kürnbach’s Altenberg. They are about 50 m from the “Weitblick” installation. If you are interested in traces of the past, the Historical Town Tour is another option: it covers 40 stops and introduces buildings and historical figures.
On a private historical tour, local guide Hans Wilhelm tells stories about the distinctive features of the former Hesse-Württemberg and later Hesse-Baden condominium. Check possible dates in advance. The two descriptions of the town tours focus on different things: buildings and historical figures in one, and the history of the condominium in the other.
