Hiking
The NORTH Chapel Circular Hiking Trail is around 11 kilometres long and takes approximately three hours. It is considered easy, has few climbs and runs mainly on asphalt. The Wayside Shrine Circular Hiking Trail covers around 7.6 kilometres, takes approximately two hours and is classified as easy to moderately difficult; some climbs are part of its route.
Cycling
When cycling, Wittighausen lies halfway along the Main-Tauber Cycle Route. This route connects the cycling networks of the Charming Tauber Valley and the Main Valley. The Wittigbach Valley section of the Main-Tauber Cycle Route is around 18 kilometres long and runs mostly along the Wittig and Grünbach streams. The Wittigbach Valley Cycle Route is fully paved and comparatively flat. From Kirchheim, it is possible to continue as far as Würzburg. The connection therefore includes both the regional route between two cycling networks and the specific section through the Wittigbach Valley that follows the Wittig and Grünbach streams.
Nature and Trails
There are cycle paths and footpaths in and around Wittighausen. A paved path connects Wittighausen with Lauda in the Tauber Valley and Würzburg in the Main Valley. The four districts of Wittighausen contain extensive wooded areas that can be reached via well-developed farm tracks. These farm tracks invite visitors to go for walks and complement the signposted hiking trails with routes through the woodland. Thus, the municipality offers paved connections, signposted circular trails and farm tracks through the wooded areas side by side.
Culture
Churches and chapels are among Wittighausen's attractions. In Poppenhausen, the Hofkapelle chapel and St. Martin's Church each contain a replica created by Heinz Schiestl of a former Pietà by Tilman Riemenschneider. Replicas can be seen in both buildings; their respective historical original was a former Pietà by Tilman Riemenschneider. Both religious sites therefore preserve the same art-historical connection, each in its own setting.
In the nearby area, Bütthard is connected to the Franconian Way of St. Mary, which is over 800 kilometres long.
