Weidenbach combines baroque architectural history with nature and trees in the municipality. When planning your trip, you can distinguish the options by theme and route length: churches and a baroque house are in the town, while Triesdorf also offers circular trails and a larger historic complex. This lets you choose how to balance architecture, an audio-guided town tour, and nature experiences.

Baroque Architecture in the Town

One baroque building in Weidenbach is St. George’s Church. It was built by Leopoldo Retty and consecrated in 1736. It is also the court church of the nearby Triesdorf Residence. Inside the church are a pulpit altar and an organ above it. The baroque cemetery church dates from 1737 and, together with the court church, shapes the townscape. Another example is the baroque house at Bechhofener Straße 2, built around 1740 in the style of the Ansbach court architects. Together, these buildings show different sides of baroque architecture in Weidenbach: religious buildings and a house. Check the opening hours before visiting St. George’s Church.

Walks and Nature Trails

The Weidenbach audio-guided town tour is about 5.1 km long and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. It starts at St. George’s Church or in front of the town hall. At this length, it is about twice as long as the trails in Triesdorf, which are around 2.5 km; the duration also gives you a time frame. Check the tour details with the provider before setting out.

In Triesdorf, a separate district of the municipality of Weidenbach, two circular trails have similar lengths but different themes. Via Mali is an approximately 2.5 km apple trail with 16 interactive stations. The Triesdorf Tree Trail, which is freely accessible year-round, leads past 21 native and southern tree species and is also about 2.5 km long. You can choose between a route focused on apples and stations, and a trail that highlights different tree species.

A guided tour of the Tree Trail adds a personal search to the experience: participants look for their personal “birth tree” and enjoy interactive nature experiences, as well as stories and anecdotes about trees. The tour concludes with a tasting of Triesdorf delicacies. You can request the tour by email from the Triesdorf Information Center; also check availability with them before you travel.

The Historic Complex in Triesdorf

In Triesdorf, a separate district of the municipality of Weidenbach, there is a 200-hectare complex with numerous historic buildings that bear witness to its past as the baroque summer residence of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach. This expansive complex is on a different scale from the individual baroque buildings in the town of Weidenbach.

A farm vending machine, freely accessible at all times, is located directly by the parking lot of the Triesdorf Agricultural Training Center. Ask about its availability before you travel.
