Zirndorf offers a variety of reasons to explore the town: expansive PLAYMOBIL play worlds, traces of history in the town center and a viewpoint overlooking the region. When planning your stay, you can take these different highlights into account—from the FunPark and the town’s history to time spent outdoors.

Play worlds and getting your bearings at the PLAYMOBIL FunPark

The PLAYMOBIL FunPark covers 90,000 m². In its oversized PLAYMOBIL play worlds, visitors can play at being pirates, dinosaur explorers, knights, ladies of the castle or princesses, among other roles. These characters and themes give a visit to the park its own focus.

The park also includes the 5,000 m², glass-enclosed HOB Center. There you will find life-size PLAYMOBIL settings and extensive play areas; there is also a show stage, experiential dining and a coffee bar. These stage and dining options complement the play areas.

The FunPark is almost entirely wheelchair accessible: all paths can be used with a wheelchair or stroller, and lifts or ramps are available where needed. Since some accessibility arrangements may change, check the conditions relevant to your plans before your visit.

From Zirndorf town center, it takes about 45 minutes to walk to the park. From Zirndorf station, a well-signposted path follows the Bibert. As the signage may change, check it before setting out.

Historic places in Zirndorf

St. Rochus Parish Church is a defining feature of the historic town center. The historic brewery site is right next to the church; together, they form a particularly noteworthy ensemble. Koppenplatz is one of Zirndorf’s oldest squares. Its fountain is decorated with Zirndorf toys, giving the townscape a distinctive accent.

The Zirndorf horseshoe and wagon smithy is also among the town’s oldest buildings. It was first mentioned in 1306 and closed in 1974. These two dates mark different stages in its history: its first recorded mention and the end of the smithy’s operations.

Another historic stop is the Alte Veste. In 1632, it was at the center of events in the Thirty Years’ War and served as the main bulwark of Wallenstein’s camp against King Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden. Rebuilt in 1980, the tower has an observation platform and a Viscope that projects Wallenstein’s camp onto the landscape. From there, you can see Zirndorf, Nuremberg, Fürth and the surrounding area.

Green space and activity along the Kneipp Avenue

Kneipp Avenue brings together nature and exercise. Its oak trees are about 130 years old, protected and designated as a natural monument. The grounds invite you to stroll, Nordic walk, jog, cycle and play. This makes time outdoors another option alongside the theme park and historical attractions.

Zirndorf’s different sides are easy to distinguish when planning your visit: the FunPark offers play worlds and other facilities in its HOB Center, the town center brings together historic sites, and the focus at Kneipp Avenue is on activity and nature. The tower of the Alte Veste adds a viewpoint with far-reaching views to the mix.
