Rybie can be understood as a destination for a stay through three specific themes: local history, parish life and community activities. The Church of St. Bartholomew the Apostle, a memorial plaque dating from 1853 and the “Świetlik” Community Centre each offer a different focus. When choosing a hotel, you can consider whether you would like to include religious history, a parish event or municipal activities in your itinerary. Bus stops on the R2 route in the town also provide useful reference points for planning your journey.

Memorial Plaque and Church

A memorial plaque beside the figure of Christ the King commemorates a cholera epidemic: residents of Rybie who survived it erected the plaque in 1853. This memorial site thus connects a specific date with the fate of the survivors. Anyone interested in the town’s history will find here a tangible link to the people who established the memorial.

The Church of St. Bartholomew the Apostle was built between 1986 and 2004 to a design by chartered engineer Jerzy Cander. It was consecrated on 24 October 2004. The construction period and the consecration mark different stages in its creation: building work continued over several years, while the consecration was a precisely dated event.

The names of the church’s three bells are also specific details: they are called “St. Bartholomew,” “St. Luke” and “St. Peter.” The parish also venerates an image of Our Lady, Refuge of Sinners, Comforter of the Afflicted and Help of the Faithful. Together, these names and titles offer insight into the religious associations connected with the church and parish.

Parish Life with Regular and Dated Events

A novena to Our Lady, Help of the Faithful, is held in Rybie parish on the 24th of every month. This recurring date is different from individually announced celebrations and processions. If you would like to combine a visit with a parish event, the day of the month is therefore a useful planning reference.

For 2024, a procession with the Blessed Sacrament was announced along a route taking in Polna, 19 Kwietnia, Spokojna, Wesoła and Piaskowa streets; it passed four altars. The route may change in subsequent years. The indulgence celebration announced for 25 August 2024 was to include a solemn Eucharist followed by a procession. For later years, check the dates and programme again before your visit.

“Świetlik” Community Centre

The “Świetlik” Community Centre has a well-equipped children’s playground and a sports field that is open every day of the week. The centre also hosts music, sports and art classes, as well as concerts for adults and children. Its programme also includes tournaments, competitions, meetings and lectures; individual activities may change.

The programme at “Świetlik” thus includes both classes and events and gatherings. This distinguishes these activities from a single, specifically dated parish event or the monthly novena. If you are planning to visit Rybie for a particular class or concert, check the current programme before arranging your trip around it.

Bus Connections and Getting Around

The municipal R2 bus route runs through Jaworowa, Rybie, Raszyn, Nowe Grocholice, Raszyn, Puchały, Wypędy and Janki. The timetable in effect from 1 January 2026 lists stops in Rybie on Wesoła, Spokojna, Wakacyjna and 19 Kwietnia streets. Check the timetable and departure times before travelling, as stop times may change.

A construction project on Stadionowa Street includes a 156-metre section of cycle path. It is important to note that this is one component of a construction project. The bus information and the cycle-path section are different reference points; for your specific journey, you can use the R2 stop that suits you and the current timetable.
