Koczała offers several concrete starting points for planning your trip: a listed church building, a house from the 19th century, Lake Dymno in the municipality, and cycling routes of different lengths and courses. This lets you tailor your stay to your interests—perhaps local history, nature or a cycling tour. You can explore these topics separately, and each offers different points to consider when planning.

Church and Local History

The parish church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a listed brick religious building. It was built in 1901–1902 in the Neo-Romanesque Gothic style. An old house dating from 1830 is also located on Południowa Street. Both buildings offer a concrete point of comparison in time: the house dates from the 19th century, while the church was built just over seven decades later. There are also historic gravestones in a cemetery in Koczała. They add another facet of local history to the buildings.

Lake Dymno and Koczała Camp

Lake Dymno is located in the municipality of Koczała. It covers an area of 68.22 ha, has a maximum depth of 18.0 m and an average depth of 7.0 m. The lake is a charophyte lake; charophyte macroalgae cover its bottom. In 2009, it was included in the Natura 2000 network under the name “Jezioro Dymno.” Both its ecological classification and its named Natura 2000 designation are among the lake’s characteristics.

The municipal recreation and leisure complex Koczała Camp is located in Koczała, on Lake Dymno and within a Natura 2000 area. The complex includes a sandy-grassy beach that is supervised during the summer holidays. Check the rules for the current season before your visit. There is a rest area with benches, tables and waste bins on the shore of Lake Dymno; the campsite has a shelter with a fire pit. As facilities on site may change, it is advisable to confirm the latest information before visiting.

Cycling Routes by Length and Course

The Trasa Bobrowa is 10 km long. It starts on Akacjowa Street in Koczała and passes through Działek and Niedźwiady to the municipal boundary between Koczała and Przechlewo. The 16 km Jelenia cycling route also starts on Akacjowa Street and passes through Działek, Załęże, Zapadłe and Stara Brda Pilska to the same municipal boundary. The two routes therefore share a starting point and destination area; their different courses can also be identified from the named intermediate places. Check the latest route conditions before setting out on the Jelenia cycling route.

The 26 km Szafirowy Szlak starts at the junction of Szkolna and Spacerowa streets in Koczała, passes through Dymin, Dźwierzno, Starzno and Ostrówek, then returns to Koczała, where it follows Sportowa, Miastecka and Szkolna streets. Lake Dymno is one of the attractions along this route. Another route described is 11 km long: it runs from the boundary between the municipalities of Koczała and Przechlewo via Człuchowska and Polna streets in Koczała to Płocicz. The routes therefore differ not only in length: the Szafirowy Szlak returns to Koczała, while the 11 km route leads to Płocicz.
