Chwałowice: Church, Community Centre and Cycle Route

The church is a modernist brick building. It was constructed in two phases, from 1958 to 1960 and from 1970 to 1972; Bishop I. Tokarczuk consecrated it on 18 August 1974. Three large rectangular stained-glass windows define the altar wall. This architectural history sets the church apart from the region’s older village churches. Cycle Route and Remembrance

The “Przez dzikie tereny Lasów Janowskich” cycle route passes through Chwałowice. Its name refers to the Janów Forests, but the fact that it passes through the village does not indicate a particular stage length or difficulty. Check the current route, surface and return journey when planning your ride. A cemetery in Łążek Chwałowski commemorates villagers who lost their lives during a pacification action. This memorial site is not simply in the centre of Chwałowice and merits a respectful visit planned specifically for it.
