Stare Brynki can be explored through three distinct themes: the red hiking trail, the history of the village, and the landscape and its opportunities for observing nature. The trail passes through several places; the historical points of reference concern the village itself, while the forest, stream and other destinations characterize the northern surroundings. This allows you to get a sense of the place through its routes, history and nature.

Hiking Trail and Landscape

The red Nadodrzański hiking trail passes through Binowo, Chlebowo, Stare Brynki, Gryfino, Dolna Odra and Nowe Czarnowo. Within the Gryfino municipality, it covers 31.45 km. This figure refers to the route within the municipality. Stare Brynki can also be reached by bicycle or on foot via a red hiking trail. A section of the red hiking trail passes through open terrain before reaching Stare Brynki. The hills visible to the right of the route are called Wietrzne Góry.

Northern Surroundings and Nature

North of Stare Brynki, a road runs through the forest alongside the Omulna stream towards Puszcza Bukowa. It also leads to the ruins of a mill and a sawmill; both share the stream’s name. Deer can be spotted in and around Stare Brynki, and cranes can be heard. Porcini mushrooms and Suillus luteus can also be found in the area. The natural surroundings thus range from forest and stream landscapes to wildlife sightings and mushroom species.

Cistercian History and the Church

Stare Brynki is a Cistercian village where the monks received rights around 1240. The Church of Saint Faustina Kowalska stands in the center of the village. It was built towards the end of the 19th century on the site of an earlier church. The Cistercian connection around 1240 and the later construction of the church thus represent two distinct periods in the village’s history.
