Manowo lies on the Dzierżęcinka River and National Road No. 11, 12 km southeast of Koszalin. This location provides a concrete geographical reference when searching for a hotel in Manowo. The town brings together several themes that you can prioritise in different ways when planning: the narrow-gauge railway station and church, the park, the natural area of Czapla Góra, and cycling routes of varying lengths and itineraries. This lets you decide whether history, nature or cycling should be the focus of your trip.

History at the station, in the park and at the church

The narrow-gauge railway station was built in 1912. The preserved naturalistic park in Manowo is one of the town’s listed monuments; the Church of Our Lady Help of Christians was built between 1980 and 1983. The two specific construction periods are far apart, while the park is characterised by its landscape design and listed status. This gives culture-minded travellers a varied view of Manowo: a historic railway station, a naturalistic park and a church with its own construction period.

The natural area of Czapla Góra

Czapla Góra combines a landscape feature with an ecological one: the area has the character of a woodland park and is a breeding site for grey herons. It is also home to a group of five pedunculate oaks with trunk circumferences of up to 490 cm. The grey herons and the group of oaks offer different points of interest for nature enthusiasts. The 490 cm figure is the maximum for the group, not a circumference given for every tree.

Cycling routes by length and itinerary

Three routes can be distinguished by length and itinerary for a cycling trip. The red Szlak Morenowej Przełęczy is 14 km long and runs from Manowo via Policko, Maszkowo and Kłos; it starts in Manowo at the beginning of the road to Wyszebórz. The green Szlak Spichlerzy is 32 km long and runs from Mścice via Biesiekierz, Dunowo, Jarzyce and Świeszyno to Manowo. Another cycling route is Trasa Słoneczna: it runs through Manowo, Niedalino and Zacisze before returning to Manowo.

The stated lengths make the difference between the 14 km route and the 32 km route immediately clear. The sequences of towns also differ: Manowo is the starting point for the red route and the destination for the green route; Trasa Słoneczna starts and ends in Manowo. If you are choosing a route by distance, the red route is the shorter of the two routes with a stated length. Trasa Słoneczna adds an itinerary that returns to Manowo to the comparison. Route conditions may change; check them before setting out.

Narrow-gauge railway and technical monument

The Koszalińska Kolej Wąskotorowa also adds a distinctive touch. It is a 19th-century technical monument protected by law, operates on the Koszalin–Manowo (12 km) and Koszalin–Rosnowo (20 km) routes, and carries tourists and excursion groups. The route to Rosnowo is 8 km longer than the route to Manowo.
