Eringsboda: Lakes, Church and Garden Culture
Accommodation in Eringsboda
Eringsboda offers several ways to shape a stay: ten lakes and fishing opportunities, the walking trail around the centrally located lake Togölen, and cultural history connected with the church, cemetery and garden park. If you are looking for a hotel in Eringsboda, you can first consider which of these interests matters most for your trip. That can help you choose between nature by the water, a walk and historic places.
Lakes and fishing
Eringsboda has ten lakes, and fishing is possible in the area's lakes. In the southern part of Eringsbodabygden lies the Ljusterhövdens m. fl. sjöars fisheries management area. It covers ten lakes with a combined area of more than 300 hectares. The figure of more than 300 hectares refers to the area of all ten lakes together, not to a single lake.
The Togölen walking trail
Togölen is centrally located in Eringsboda. A lit walking trail runs around the lake; parking for the trail is available at Färgaregården and by the old shop. This gives you both a waterside route and specific parking options to help you find your way. If you plan to take the walk, check the current trail and parking conditions before your visit.
Church and cemetery
The origins of Eringsboda's cemetery date back to the 1730s, when the first chapel was built. The wooden chapel, roofed with wooden shingles, was built in 1736–1738 and was later replaced by Eringsboda Church. This church was built in 1847–1849 to plans by J. A. Hawerman. More than a century separates the construction of the chapel from that of the church. The church's neoclassical exterior has remained unchanged since it was built.
The cemetery was also an important meeting place in the 18th and 19th centuries. Those interested in the area's history will find here both the chapel's early origins and the church's later architectural history, as well as the cemetery's former role in community life.
Garden park and connection
Nordensköldsparken in Eringsboda is one of several rural garden parks maintained entirely by volunteers. The RonnebySlingor route connects Nordensköldsparken with Svenmanska Park in Bräkne-Hoby. This distinguishes it from the walking trail at Togölen: there, the path circles a lake; here, a route connects two named parks. This allows you to see a local garden park and a connection between park locations as distinct cultural points of interest.
Karlskronavägen and the historic connection
Eringsboda is located on Karlskronavägen, Road 122. Today, the road follows a route that was once an important connection between Småland and Ronneby's shipping port.
