Hotels in See/Lac: Lake Murten, Vully and Kerzers
Accommodation in See/Lac
See/Lac in the canton of Fribourg brings together Murten’s old town, Lake Murten, the vineyards on Mont Vully and the Seeland region around Kerzers. If you are looking for a hotel here, first decide what you want to focus on during your trip: historic lanes, the lake and wine region, or excursions on foot and by bike. A hotel anywhere in the district is not automatically by the lake or close to all starting points. Compare the exact address of an actual offer with your plans.
Murten as a base for the town and lake
The medieval old town of Murten has narrow lanes and Baroque houses. According to the available local information, its almost completely preserved ring wall can be walked in any weather; eight panels explain the Battle of 1476. From the wall path, you can see over the rooftops to Lake Murten. The permanent exhibition at the Murten Museum documents 6,000 years of local and regional history. For a short cultural stay, a hotel with a convenient route to the old town may therefore make more sense than a general “lakeside location”, since the actual distance depends on the offer.
Lake Murten offers, among other things, boat trips, windsurfing, wakeboarding and stand-up paddling. A round trip takes a little over an hour and offers a different perspective on the old town, vineyards and Mont Vully. The Lake Murten Trail is described as a challenging 12-kilometre loop that runs along the lakeshore and through vineyards, ending with a boat trip to Murten. You will need to coordinate your walking time with current boat schedules; a hotel booking does not include the boat trip or a water sports activity unless this is stated in the specific offer. Muntelier and Greng have their own town pages for searching for a suitable location in the See/Lac area.
Vully and Kerzers for different kinds of days out
Mont Vully, at 653 metres, lies between Lake Murten, Lake Neuchâtel and Lake Biel and offers views of the Jura and the Alps. Several hiking trails cross the mountain. A historical trail is signposted from Sugiez railway station and from the landing stages at Praz and Môtier; it also reaches a Celtic oppidum. In the Vully wine region, you can taste local wines and visit cellars, provided an actual offer and date are available. For your stay, the town pages for Bas-Vully and Haut-Vully can be considered separately. A town name alone does not confirm room availability or a wine tasting.
At Kerzers, a circular hiking route passes through forests, villages and field paths before returning to its starting point. The railway station and bus connections are noted for this hike. The Papiliorama includes tropical domes with numerous butterfly species, the Nocturama for nocturnal animals and a Jungle Trek. This makes it possible to plan a day out that is different from one by the lake or in Murten. If you are checking other hotel locations, you can find the direct town pages for Ried bei Kerzers, Villarepos, Wallenried and Misery-Courtion. These links do not make unverified claims about attractions or accommodation in these four places.
Choose hotel offers based on your actual plans
A stay involving a town walk and a boat trip calls for a different location than hikes on Vully or a visit to the Papiliorama. For actual hotel offers, check the address, travel arrangements, room, price, availability and terms for your dates. Seasonal boat trips, guided tours and visits may require separate reservations; the attractions described here are not hotel amenities. The old page promised the lowest-priced holiday accommodation and various rental options without substantiating those offers. This page therefore focuses on choosing a hotel and uses verified places and activities to help you choose a location.
