Ausserbraz can be explored for trip planning through several specific themes: trails and chapels of cultural and historical interest, two named natural areas, and winter activities. If you are looking for a hotel, first decide which focus you want to shape your time here. The routes differ in their starting points, destinations and places along the way; the Außerbraz biotope lies in the Klostertaler Bergwälder Natura 2000 site, while the Brazer Allmein is an extensively used nutrient-poor pasture and one of the last refuges for the red-backed shrike in the Klostertal. This lets you prioritise the themes according to your own travel interests.

Chapels and trails of cultural and historical interest

The St. Anna field and wayside chapel in Außerbraz is protected as a historic monument by ordinance. Its protected status is recorded in the monument inventory dated 19 June 2026. The St. Anna Chapel in Außerbraz was mentioned as early as 1640 in connection with an altar consecration. The Klostertal / Braz Historic ArchiTour focuses on two special chapels and the parish church of St. Nicholas. The Sunna Trail is a themed trail of cultural and historical interest running through the municipalities of Nüziders, Bludenz and Braz. This offers both sacred buildings and a trail passing through several municipalities as points of cultural interest.

Biotope and Brazer Allmein

The Außerbraz biotope (Biotope 10304) covers 26.64 ha and lies in the Klostertaler Bergwälder Natura 2000 site. The Brazer Allmein in Außerbraz is an extensively used nutrient-poor pasture covering 48.33 ha. It is one of the last refuges for the red-backed shrike in the Klostertal. For a nature-focused visit, these are two distinct points of interest: the biotope is defined by its location in the Natura 2000 site, while the Brazer Allmein is notable for its nutrient-poor pasture and its importance as a refuge for the bird.

Routes and winter activities

The third stage of the Sunna Trail runs from Rungelin in Bludenz to the TRAUBE BRAZ Alpen.Spa.Golf.Hotel in Außerbraz. The section of the Way of St. James from Klösterle am Arlberg to Bludenz passes through Innerbraz and continues to Außerbraz. The two descriptions offer different kinds of guidance: the Sunna Trail names a stage with a specific destination, while the Way of St. James describes a section between two places and names the places it passes through.

The Allmeinweg is an easy winter hike. It starts at the TRAUBE BRAZ Alpen.Spa.Golf.Hotel and offers views of the Klostertal and the Roggelskopf. The Brazer Allmein toboggan run is also easily accessible from this hotel via the Reckholderweg. As winter conditions can vary seasonally, check the latest conditions before setting out.
